When Love, Lies & Luxury Vacations Become a Full-Time Scam

If you had asked me last week what “The Danish Deception” was, I would’ve confidently told you it’s that moment when you open a tin of “Danish cookies” and instead find your auntie’s sewing kit.
But no, it’s a full-blown TikTok telenovela.
This chaotic masterpiece is brought to us by Onyeka Ehie, a Nigerian-American former Bachelor contestant who sat down and said:
“If my life is giving Netflix scam documentary, I might as well direct it myself.”
She dropped a 25-part TikTok series, teaser, pilot, cliffhangers, the whole cinematic universe, breaking down how her fairytale marriage to a Danish man named Martin Fredsgaard Andersen turned into a high-budget scammer origin story.
And listen… she didn’t waste any good suffering. The views? Rolling. Monetisation? Active. She said, “If I’m going to expose myself, I better get paid.”
Since we don’t have the time or the mental bandwidth for all 25 episodes, let’s speed-run the chaos.
EPISODE 1: Croatia, Genitals & Gaslighting
It’s June 2022. Onyeka escapes capitalism with a girls’ trip to Croatia and meets Martin, a tall Danish man with charm, vibes, and audacity.
They flirt. They bond. He says he’s from royalty.
Before she knows it, he’s flying her out to Monaco and Cannes where they…
Well, let’s just say international relations were conducted.
She falls in love. Literally.
Passes out.
Cracks her head open.
Peed.
Bleeding.
Ambulance loading her like Nigerian parents load Coolers after a wedding.
And this man leans down and whispers,
“I love you too.”
A movie. A Nollywood–Hollywood crossover.
EPISODE 2: Long Distance Olympics (Allegedly)
She returns home, tell her parents she’s in love, they react exactly how Nigerian parents react when you mention a man from another continent.
But Martin keeps up the fairy-tale.
He flies down, charms her family, and randomly mentions he’s… an Olympian.
Sir which Olympics? The one in his mind?
Then his life “falls apart”:
- His dad dies.
- His uncle dies.
- Back injury.
- Surgery.
- A $50k building problem.
He cancels trips. She misses him.
She gives him money.
He’s grateful… then not grateful… then needs more money.
You see where this is going.
EPISODE 3: The Debt Romance Arc
They start planning marriage.
Her mother asks, “Has his family even seen your picture?”
Red flag number 1,000.
Then:
- He sells his house.
- Invests $250k in “a friend’s plumbing business.”
- IRS says he owes $318k.
- He manipulates her into giving him $15k.
- Then $3k.
- Then more money.
- Then her savings.
- Then her credit cards.
By the time they get married (courthouse + Fashion Nova dress), sis is emotionally married but financially divorced.
EPISODE 4: The Scam Multiverse Expands
In Cabo, she notices Martin’s ex AND random Danes watching her Insta stories.
He tells her to block them all.
She obeys.
We move.
But then weird things start stacking up:
- His “royal” parents live modestly.
- He says he needs $120k for an escrow deal.
- She gives $3k more.
- He makes her fund ANOTHER vacation.
- IRS “freezes” his accounts.
- He sends her $9k and says the rest is gone.
Pause.
Resume screaming.
EPISODE 5: The Plot Twist of All Plot Twists
Christmas 2023.
A friend drops the bomb:
“Martin is a gambling addict.”
Like… not small betting.
Elite-level Olympian gambling (the only Olympics he actually went to).
The investigation begins:
- He was never an Olympian.
- The house he claimed was his wasn’t.
- He’d lied about rehab.
- Lied about business.
- Lied about assets.
- Lied about EVERYTHING.
But wait, there’s more.
EPISODE 6: Everybody Has Been Scammed
Turns out Martin had been borrowing money from literally EVERYONE Onyeka introduced him to.
Her mom?
$10k.
Her sister?
$3k (twice).
Random family friends?
Thousands.
His ex-girlfriend?
Seven years of dating + family + coworkers.
Scammed EVERYBODY.
He was even juggling the ex while dating Onyeka.
His sister reveals:
- No royalty.
- No properties.
- Long scam history.
- Loan sharks once threatened to break his knees.
- He ran to Shanghai to scam new victims.
At this point Onyeka said:
“Father Lord, reset my brain.”
EPISODE 7: Escape from Denmark
When she finally confronts him, he does what scammers do best:
Cries. Gaslights. Runs to Denmark.
Then one day, as she’s walking her dog…
He pulls up in a black SUV and says,
“Hey baby.”
Like a horror movie cameo.
She screams.
He drives off like he wasn’t about to kidnap someone’s child.
SEASON FINALE: Freedom
The divorce is finalised on November 4, 2025.
She loses nothing.
He gains nothing.
Her documents? All in her name.
Her credit? Surviving on paracetamol.
Her spirit? Healing.
Now she’s collecting evidence, building a case, and gathering victims like Avengers assembling.
She said:
“If the courts don’t lock him up, TikTok will.”
And honestly?
We support.
Onyeka, go full Wakanda. We’re behind you.
